Is China the Next Superpower

Is China the Next Superpower?

The Chinese have long seen themselves as superior to every other race and the center of the world. It’s because they were so confident of this, that historically they never ventured out much or as often as the Europeans did.

Well, that is with a brief exception during the 15th, Century (from 1405 to 1433) when they had a fleet of gigantic ships, vastly superior to those of Europe and they ventured as far as Africa and India and some say they even went as far as America, before Columbus. The Chinese had long been a nation of seafarers and had invented the mariner’s compass in the 11th century. Is China the Next Superpower

Then They Shut The Door

But then the Emperor reversed the policy of open exploration and by 1500, it became a capital offence to build a seagoing junk with more than two masts. It is said they burned the large sea going ships, which abruptly ended further exploration and potential global conquest or at least exporting their culture.  They shut the door to foreigners and isolated themselves from the world for the next three hundred years.

It was the Europeans that came to China looking for opportunities and as a latter consequence it was the Chinese who were on the receiving end of whatever Europe dished out.

The Chinese were happy to sell too, (but not buy from the European traders). They demanded payment in silver for their tea, silk and ceramics and eventually this imbalance of trade caused resentment from the Europeans (especially the British) who wanted reciprocal trading.

A market was initially found for narcotics (Opium) that resulted in the infamous Opium Wars, of the late 1800s’ that resulted in the humiliation of having foreign soldiers running around the Chinese countryside. But it was also the beginning of international markets being established for many port side cities in China.

Resentment

The Chinese have historically valued the importance of ‘saving face‘ (it’s culturally important to them) And just as they have a deep-seated resentment of the  (“foreign devil“) for the humiliation suffered by occupying places like Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, and numerous other enclaves.

The Chinese today, also resent the U.S government interference in its global expansion plans and it dislikes immensely the U.S parading its aircraft carriers, in and around the South China Sea. A body of water that they claim belongs to them.

The U.S government may feel like it can call the shots, because it has a dozen aircraft carriers and a couple of thousand fighter planes. But times have changed since the early nineteenth-century, and the U.S government might actually be antagonising what could turn out to be a sleeping dragon.

An Enemy

It could be making a serious enemy with a country that now has serious wealth and a lot more modern technology. Unlike the China of early times which was isolated and insular, modern day China is vibrant and relatively advanced, and at the end of the day, any war will go to the country with the most wealth. Not the one that has the most expensive military hardware. A modern day war with a country like China would certainly bankrupt America.

The Future in ChinaIs China the Next Superpower

Putting thoughts of war aside, there are dozens of likely scenarios as to what might happen in China over the next few decades and although I am not going to pretend I can predict which one is the most likely to occur.

However, the trend that seems the most credible is the rapid rate of wealth increase in China.

I would never credit any official government figures with any accuracy, (because all Government lie – some more than others) but if we were to assume them to be correct, then the U.S. economy is growing at 2%, and China’s at about 7%.

Now add to that China has about four times the population, then this means that the largest economy on the planet may soon no longer be the U.S.A, but China. (For more on this you may wish to view my other post here)

Capitalism

While the country has remained steadfastly a one party communistic state they have whole heartily embraced capitalism (at least economically) since the Nixon era of the 1970s’ when they opened the door to doing business with the ‘west’.

There has been, and continues to be reforms to its economic model and unlike America they are quietly unapologetic about making money. The Government of course still owns and controls many of the major businesses, it restricts wholly owned foreign competition and it still owns all the land in the country. The people pay ‘for everything’ and nothing is free!Is China the Next Superpower

Even the Panda is loaned out to other nations on a ten-year contract that includes a fee of $1,000,000 per year and a provision that any cubs born during the loan period are the property of Chinese Government. This has been the arrangement ever since 1984.

So, it’s really no surprise that their GDP has shot up nearly 10,000%, since 1972 from $113 Billion, to $11.2 Trillion, today.  One thing is for certain they know how to make money.

China vs. the U.S.A

The US has been the worlds largest economy in terms of GDP since the 1920’s overtaking Britain and is currently 22.4% of Global GDP. But China is quickly closing the gap. The USA exports to China account for 7.7% of total exports and its imports account for 21.5% with Canada and Mexico both tying at second with 13.2%.

Other statistics are below;

  • Cash Reserves: China has US$3.2Trillion vs. America US$434Billion
  • Total GDP: China US$11.26Trillion vs. America US$18.42Trillion
  • GDP per Person: China US$14,600 vs. America US$49,888
  • Average Income: China US$7,593 vs. America US$54,629

Of course, the average American will still be living far more comfortably than the average Chinese in that he’ll still have a bigger house, more gadgets, cars, and consumer goods.

But if look at China vs the U.S.A, he will have considerably less investment capital and savings, and there will be far more Chinese, with substantially more wealth than many wealthy Americans.

Savings

Is China the Next Superpower

The Chinese people save over half their income and invest in real estate, even though they don’t own the actual land (since 1949 it’s been leased for 70 years from the government)

Nevertheless home ‘ownership‘ is high (at 90%) compared to the U.S where it is just 64%.

Also, most Chinese households have a major proportion of their assets in real estate vs. 27.9% in the U.S.

As the incomes in China have increased so has real estate values have gone up. In Shanghai, for example, it has increased 560% since 2000.

Also, the Chinese are buying up expensive real estate all around the world and as a result, have become the leading buyers in cities like Sydney, Singapore, L.A., San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, and London.

In 2014, they accounted for around $22 billion or some 24% of the total real estate purchases in the U.S.

Why China Has More Growth

It has nothing to do with the Chinese Government, which has actually hindered the Chinese economy. (Apart from Deng’s liberalization of the economy, in the 1980s’Doing business and trading with the West and opening up its markets is the prime reason for the last three decades of incredible growth. There are also other reasons for its economic expansion.

One is that Chinese culture is ingrained with the Confucian work ethic, which is exploited by the Chinese government in its efforts to grow the economy, but nevertheless, this work ethic is similar to the ‘Protestant work ethic’ that helped the West get where it is now.Is China the Next Superpower

Another, is the sheer number of people that share a common culture and language. Upwardly mobile Chinese are now learning English, the world’s Business, Science, and technology language. So they can access everything from the West.

Also, just as other people, from a given culture tend to prefer associating and doing business with themselves, for example, the Jews, blacks, Arabs, Irish, Italians, etc., the same is true of the Chinese.

And they a much larger than any other cultural grouping so from a financial point of view this means that business opportunities are largest within this group.

They are Smarter

Also, the Chinese on average are smarter than Westerners and have a higher I.Q (105 vs.100) As an example Chinese children need to learn 3000-5000 different characters to write and read Chinese and spend much more time is school.

Whereas western children only need to know 26 letters of the alphabet to read and write and some even struggle to do that. So perhaps that explains why the Chinese tend to do better academically and prosper in business all over the world, once they get out from under the Chinese Governments control over them.

Here’s Another ThingIs China the Next Superpower

Take an American and a Chinese, each with a dollar. Say both are equally smart and hardworking, and each can double his dollar every year, 2, 4, 8, 16…

The only difference is that the American pays 35% – 50% in taxes and the Chinese pays far less by comparison because the state provides almost nothing.

In China, you pay for almost everything, education, medical care, to use the roads, to visit a park. There is no sense of entitlement, they are brought up to pay their own way through life, nothing is free, and credit is not easy to get.

Whereas the average American has been so brainwashed that he thinks he has a moral obligation pay taxes to the government at whatever rate it asks for; he thinks it’s dishonest or it’s cheating if someone doesn’t pay or if someone puts their own family’s welfare above the demands of the State.

He also thinks the State has a moral obligation to provide for his health, education, welfare, and retirement. He actually believes that these things are ‘entitlements’ that are his by right.

Big Difference

The difference is that the West has become morally weakened by its own prosperity, corrupted by its own government’s lust for power. With the creation of a class of citizens dependent on welfare in exchange for votes for those who wish to remain in power. And that premise is well supported by current events and economic,  records.

What is Clear

What is also pretty clear that society, a government, a corporation, or an organization of any type is pretty much like a human body in at least one way: As it gets older, it gets weaker and more corrupt as it approaches its inevitable death.

In China, you have the first generation of new money, who have an expectation that things are getting better as they have steadily improved economically over the last thirty years and since the culture revolution of the 60’s each generation has been better off, than the one before. The opposite is the case in America.

The Government’s Biggest FearIs China the Next Superpower

The reason the Chinese Government maintains a tight grip on the internet, the foreign media, education and enforces strong censorship laws, is because, they, like many governments in the world, fear losing control.

Hence their immense concern about its people gaining access to information that it does not approve of.

Because, the average educated, Chinese, once they recognize the government is his adversary will feel no moral obligation towards it, only to his family. When he realizes that “the government” is just a warlord, and as a ‘government warlord’ is just another major league criminal, he will treat it accordingly.

He will consider it his duty to deny resources to the State because he knows he can’t feed the beast and his family with the same grain of rice.

One Billion Plus

They are already hard-working and self-reliant, and there is no concept or belief in the State taking care of him; that’s something his family does. When one billion plus people awaken to that realization, there is nothing its government can do to stop them. – Sadly in America, the people still believe their government is somehow still working for their best interests and will go down with the ship.

Global ChangesIs China the Next Superpower

Where will it all end up? In the short run, with America in rapid decline, China will soon become the world’s biggest and most important economy. And it could happen faster than most people think.

China wants to unseat the U.S. as the dominant world power and to do this, China is spending billions of dollars to develop the “New Silk Road.” The New Silk Road is the world’s biggest infrastructure project. If all goes according to plan, it will give China a huge economic advantage over the United States.

If China succeeds, it would overtake the U.S and become the dominant global superpower. This could trigger the biggest shift in global power since the end of World War II.

Hiding the Truth

It’s one of the biggest investing stories in the world. Yet the U.S. media barely mentions it. Maybe because it’s too big and complex of an idea to fit into soundbites. Or perhaps the Government doesn’t want the American public to awaken to its incompetence and mishandling of global affairs and the destruction of the American Dream. Is China the Next Superpower

If the Chinese people awaken to their political one party con game, they may also react swiftly in eliminating all vestiges of government intervention in their lives.

Should that happen, it will propel them into superpower status at such a speed that has never before been seen in the world.

America Should Be First

This is something that America, should be doing first, because it became rich and powerful because it had a limited government.

But sadly most Americans never recognise they have been brainwashed into thinking they are still living in the land of the free & the home of the brave.

Instead, they prefer to believe that countries like China and Russia are their enemies and their own Government is their friend and protector.

Yet in truth, not only does their own government spy on them, deceive and mislead them, they also hide the truth from the very people they pretend to serve.

I talk more about this in another post about the people who are the real benefactors in our society.

More On China vs The USA…

The typical Chinese day labourer today makes six times as much as he did in 1999.  So the average person has more money than ever before. Whereas the typical American day labourer has gained little, in fact, after you have taken into account inflation, the American worker has not had a significant raise in the last 40 years.

Add to that the cost of medical care which is more than seven times more than it was in 1980 and total household debt has risen nearly 12 times since 1980. America is living on its past economic wealth (which is fast evaporating) and China is quickly developing economic smarts.

What’s China’s Position on North Korea.

Why does China not put more pressure on North Korea to cooperate with the Western powers to limit the development of the DPRK’s nuclear program? The answer is simple, and here’s what most people don’t understand about China.  It’s still a communist country and it wants to keep North Korea as a buffer zone between South Korea and China. They don’t want their people having direct access to that boarder.

But they also don’t want North Korea to collapse either (nor a reunification) as that would also put South Korea directly on its border, with all their ‘US’ forces and bases they have. Nor do they want poor and desperate, North Koreans fleeing into China, if it collapses economically. So they continue to secretly fund the regime and will do all they can to prevent any ‘invasion / occupation’ of North Korea.

Communism and Military Might

Communism, in the Soviet Union failed (for many reasons) but one was because consumers were forced to buy whatever shoddy products that were available to them and the producers had no reason to want, or to learn, how to make better ones.

Toward the end, products available for purchase in the Soviet Union were worth less than the raw materials and labor that went into them and hence they exported very little. Plus of course they spent over 60% of their GDP on the Military and so consequently they went broke.

Today it’s a different story…

  • The USA spends 3.3% of its GDP on Military spending – US$ 597.5 Billion
  •  Russia spends 5.3% of its GDP on Military spending – US$ 65.6 Billion
  • China spends 1.9% of its GDP on Military spending – US$ 145.8 Billion

China Military Budget 2012.pngNote: Chinese military spending has doubled between 1997 and 2003 and it continues to grow at over 10% annually but as the country’s GDP grows larger each year, the percentages look smaller. See graphs below and right.

China published military budget by percent of GNP.tiff

The Chinese, however have learned many lesson from the collapse of the Soviet Union and as they now make many of products for the ‘west‘ they have learned how to export low cost products and generate a large surplus income from the rest of the world. They have also grown their military faster than any other country.

America Was Great – Once!

America was once great, an unprecedented economic powerhouse, the land of innovations and freedom. Before the government destroyed the entrepreneurial spirit with too much regulation and intervention into the economic affairs of its people.

As China grows its economy, by reducing its red tape and regulation of businesses.

America adds more rules and regulations to her businesses, impeding innovation, and entrepreneurship. Yet the American people don’t see it. They think a new President will save them.

Is China the Next Superpower

It’s YOUR Time!

Don’t Rely On The Government

The Government is not going to save the economy. It will be the innovators, the entrepreneurs, that will bring about the economic salvation that the world desperately needs.

It is going to be people like you and me pursuing their passions, their interests, their freedom and affections for decentralization and independence. These are the people who are the real benefactors to society.

If you are asking yourself what can you do? What skills do you have, how can you provide values and benefits to others? Then what I about to tell you next may interest you.

The Future

Seriously! There is currently 3 billion or so people searching online for information and solutions to problems, so the potential is enormous.

Should the Chinese people ever become free from the control of their heavily information censoring Government. It would give them ‘real’ access to the internet (– Not, the heavily censored ‘intranet‘ they currently have). This will lead to an explosion of internet searches as they seek to explore a ‘new world‘ of knowledge.  Knowledge and information that is currently denied to them.

Will China Be The Next Super Power?

It’s hard to know for sure but they are trying hard and you don’t want to be left behind and uninformed, so you need to seriously consider how you can cash in on this potentially new future world order. On thing is for certain, if it’s going to happen – it’s going to happen quickly.

The Internet

So there has never been a more important time to take control of your own financial future and to fully embrace today’s latest technology revolution (the Internet) and seriously consider building an online business to take advantage the income potential that this technology offers.

An Online Business

Having an online business could be a way to create your own economic security and provide additional income from around the world as the internet opens up business opportunities to billions of people.

It’s Not Easy!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy, in fact, only a small fraction of people working online make any real money. The reason that most people are not making $100’s or $1,000’s of dollars a day online because there is work involved.

With the internet dominating the business world, becoming an online business owner is a very wise choice. If you are new to online marketing, you could consider the affiliate marketing business model. It is an awesome way to make money. Your niche doesn’t really matter because you can always create a market for your offer.

Awesome info! This infor is practical and useful.

I appreciate you breaking it all down for us.

Is china the next big superpower? Well, it would seem that way. With all the information that you presented I would say yes.

I appreciate the post. Looking forward to reading more information.

    • Peter

Hello, Jerry. Thanks for your comments. Yes, maybe so however China does have a number of major issues standing in the way. One of which is demographics. The One Child policy that it has implemented  (recently relaxed) has created a situation where there are more boys (80 million or so) than girls and you have one child who when they are at the age to enter the work force will have to support 6 retirees, plus the Government. Plus the ageing population is growing rapidly currently around 20%. They will be facing the demographic problems that has plagued Japan for the last thirty years which is the reason its economy has tanked and no matter what its governments tries, it cannot restart its economy because old people who are no longer working spend a lot less money. Plus many other issues which could be the subject of another post here.

Thanks again for your comments. 🙂

Thank you Peter. This website is amazing and I learn a lot from it.
China has carved a niche for itself in the recent years with respect to national and economic issues; that is why entrepreneurs and managers worldwide are roaring to have their businesses there.
China is the country that has a population excess of 1.35 Billion people. I think that it is a good time now to have a good opportunity in affiliate marketing in China. I am a newbie in WA, and I also believe that the WA platform will train me to succeed in affiliate marketing.

    • Peter

Hello, Mason Yes, I agree affiliate marketing in China could be a fantastic opportunity. Should the Chinese people ever become free from the controlling,  heavily, ‘information censoring’ Government.

One day they might  have ‘real’ access to the internet ( Not, the heavily censored ‘intranet‘ they currently have). You cannot access FaceBook, Google, Twitter, Youtube etc in China because they cannot access the real internet so online marketing as we know it currently is not an option.

Yes, there has been a rush to manufacture in China because of the lower labour costs, but that is now changing plus the outright theft of intellectual property Is curbing the initially rally of companies setting up in China.

Thank you for your comments. 🙂

  • Linda

I certainly agree with you that most Americans do not realize that they no longer live in the land of the free. The government has conned the entire nation into giving up it’s private information, and every year they develop some new way of spying on everyone. But people will certainly give up their privacy in exchange for “protection.” it’s unbelievable isn’t it?

    • Peter

Hello, Linda Yes, you are right. Most people don’t realise they no longer live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. They also fail to understand that Wealth and prosperity does not come from the Government or its rules and regulations. Instead, Government regulations restrict and hinder business to the detriment of society. All Governments and their rules and regulations are not for the protection of our society, as they claim. These rules are in place for control, not for protection.

We do not need more regulations. We need far less. (if you think otherwise you need to see this article). And if you want to discover who are the  real benefactors to society, you may like to read this post I wrote about that

Thank you soo much for your comments. 🙂

Hi Peter, great article on China. My wife and I have just left Shanghai in June this year after living some 9 to 10 years on and off there.
We actually saw the progression from bike to, electric bike to motorised bike to car since 2002 when we first arrived.
Totally agree the growth and expansion has been phenomenal and I wish we bought a property when we first arrived. We would be set for life now.
On top of great savers, I’m sure you know that the Chinese invest into Gold and Silver a lot I’m pretty sure more than any other people, with the exception of the Indians I think.
Great informed info from someone on the ground and I am sure someone needing to write an essay or project will get plenty of topics to write about.
Good luck with your venture and travels there.

    All the best John

    • Peter

Hello, John Thank you for your comments. Yes, you are right about China. They have steadily improved economically over the last forty years or so and this generation is better off, than the one before. Today you have the first generation of new money, who have an expectation that things are getting better which is the opposite case in America.

And Yes, Chinese people are the biggest buyers of gold in the world and as the second largest economy in the world, they poured more concrete between 2011 and 2013 ( and during its recent construction boom) than the United States did during the entire 20th century. Not only did China consume 60% of the world’s concrete. It was also the largest commodity consumer, using up half of the world’s aluminum, nickel, copper, steel, and coal.

BUT things are also changing, their economy is slowing (faster than they admit) which unfortunately, is also going to have a negative impact on the rest of us because any significant decline in the Chinese economy, is going to impact the rest of us in some way because China does business with most western countries.

Watch your inbox for a copy of the eBook that is coming your way as a thank you for leaving a comment. 🙂

  • Kyoko Connolly

Very interesting article. I noticed it was posted on 10/1/16, but I feel your article is more relevant than ever right now. We see more and more the corruption of our governments (I would say not only the US but many other countries) and the media that manipulate the information.

I live in the West Coast where many Chinese people come to buy the land and houses. The average price of houses over here is about a half million, and they pay cash (because they are not US residences). Yeah, they are rich! I also know about their growing military. I think we start seeing the power and wealth of China but that should have been noticed long time ago!

One thing I am not sure is that do all Chinese people become rich or are there still certain people who are rich? I thought there were many poor people who are struggling, especially in remote or rural area. I think as a Japanese who grew up in Japan, that was the impression of China – the third world country with a lot of poor people. That`s more of the reason why I am so surprised at recent discovery about China`s power. If there are still many people struggling, did China become rich from certain people who live in metropolitan area?

Thank you again for the great insight about current world affairs.

    • Peter

      Hello, Kyoko.

Yes, you are right about the Chinese buying property around the world.

The country’s more affluent and ‘connected’ are buying the expensive real estate and as a result, have become the leading buyers in cities like Sydney, Singapore, Los Angles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Auckland and London.  In 2014, they accounted for  24% or around  $22 billion or so of the total real estate purchases in the U.S.  The ‘average’ Chinese still has difficultly getting money out of China or getting a Visa.

However only 51% (up from 20% fifty years ago) of their population is urbanised (i.e living in cities) compared to around 75% in the developed world, so a large number of Chinese are still living in the country areas and are relatively poor by comparison.

As for suddenly becoming rich, well it has taken 30-40 years or so after opening up the country to trade (in late 1970s’ – early 1980s’ ) that has created the wealth they are enjoying today. Governments do not make people rich ( the opposite in fact).

It is only by allowing more freedom to do business that generates wealth and that’s what ‘economic reform’ means in China and it’s this ability to do business with the rest of the world ( which was previously denied them) is what is responsible for their economic success.

Thank you so much for your comments. 🙂

What a clever site. I learned a lot about China from your site and it made sense how you directed the reader to affiliate marketing via international relationships, through to personal opportunities through affiliate marketing. I’m just starting my business and found your information very helpful. So glad that Wealthy Affiliate is the focus of your site.

    • Peter

Hello, Beverley. Thank you for your comments and I am pleased you found it informative. Yes, WA is a great platform to get the education you need to be a success online. 🙂

CHina is, indeed the sleeping dragon and China has become the largest multicultural center in the world, the total opposite of what China used to be hundreds of years ago. I don’t believe that IQ is actually a good indicator of how smart a person is, EQ (Emotional Intelligence is equally or even more important than IQ.

We have all been brainwashed by our governments to believe that we are actually entitled to something. Warren Buffet once said that “the world is not yet a crazy enough place to reward a bunch of undeserving people”. Everything that we know as rights, Justice, Freedom, Education and everything else is made up by the human race to brainwash us and keep us in check. Elite groups of people have always tried to control the masses. We have been brainwashed to believe whatever they tell us. We should live in a certain way, eat in a certain way and behave in a certain way.

The sooner we exit the boundaries that have been placed by society, our parents, friends and school the sooner we will find the true purpose of our existence.

    • Peter

Hello, John. Thank you for your comments. Yes, I agree with you. “The sooner we exit the boundaries that have been placed by society, our parents, friends and school the sooner we will find the true purpose of our existence”. And one place to help us do that is the internet. I hope you enjoy the eBook that is coming your way. 🙂

  • Dagda

I have always been interested in China and how they work. It is fascinating to see how the world powers play out in front of our very eyes. I would like to visit China some day so hopefully nothing happens in regards to war.

There is much mystery surrounding this country and you have helped clear a lot of it up so thank you.

    • Peter

Hello, Dagda. Thank you for your comments, China is an interesting place for sure and its still not too expensive. So don’t wait too long.  Cheers 🙂

  • Jon

    Hi Peter,

Funnily enough I have been doing a lot of research into cryptocurrencies, I find them very interesting. I’m not sure you have covered it due to the wealth of information available on your website but I found it interesting how China has made the creation of cryptocurrencies illegal due to the large amount of startups in their country and the control the government assumes over its economy to further its agenda. The most amazing part is that even after china banned cryptocurrency startups and their prices crashed, the majority of them bounced back just as strong.

I enjoyed reading your insights keep up the good work peter!

    • Hello, Jon Thanks for your comments. I have a post about here that goes into that topic and its is very interesting what’s happening in China about how they are trying to deal with that issue. I am pleased you found the post interesting. 🙂

  • Del

That was a thoroughly good read! I’m very interested in the whole China / North Korea situation at them moment and find it fascinating as to why they’re trying to hold off any intervention, although I do understand the reasoning behind it but surely they could be putting more pressure on NK to stop the situation escalating as if it does escalate then surely they’re those reasons for holding back go ‘out the window’.

    • Peter

Hello, Dell.  China will not allow the US (or South Korea for that matter) to invade North Korea  (DPRK) no matter what the situation North Korea put itself into. The reason is simple, China s a communist country and it wants to keep North Korea as a buffer zone between South Korea and China. They don’t want their people having direct access to that boarder because just as Russia had a wall to contain their people, so does China, its just not quiet as obvious as a man made physical structure. While North Korea acts like a crazy man the world thinks China is not so bad… All very clever really. Thanks for your comments. 🙂

  • Wilson C.

    Hey Peter,

Thanks for the great information. It is a good read!

Although my roots were from China, but I do not live there. Nevertheless, we should all be concerned of this rising powerhouse. China had been steadily growing in their economy.

Instead of fearing the Chinese, I feel that this is a good thing as China is opening many business opportunities for entrepreneurs to take advantage of, especially when it comes to outsourcing. The creation of Drop Shipping businesses was also all thanks to this,

    • Peter

Hello, Wilson. Yes, we need to work with, not fight against this emerging mega trend.

China wants to unseat the U.S. as the dominant world power and is spending billions of dollars to develop the “New Silk Road.” The New Silk Road is the world’s biggest infrastructure project. If all goes according to plan, it will give China a huge economic advantage over the United States. If China succeeds, it would overtake the U.S and become the dominant global superpower. This could trigger the biggest shift in global power since the end of World War II.

Yes, America was great once, an unprecedented economic powerhouse, the land of innovations and freedom. But the government has all but destroyed the entrepreneurial spirit, with too much regulation and intervention into the economic lives and freedom of its people.

As China grows its economy, by reducing its red tape and regulation on businesses. America adds more rules and regulations to her businesses, impeding innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Yet the American people don’t see it. They think a new President will save them. As most Americans never recognise that they have been brainwashed into thinking they are still living in the land of the free & the home of the brave. Preferring to believe that countries like North Korea, China and Russia are their enemies and that their own Government is their friend and protector, as it steadily erodes away their freedoms with each new law they pass.

      Thanks for your comments. 🙂

Hi Peter, you have my full attention. After reading about cryptocurrency I want do put all of my eggs in the bitcoin basket. Not even joking. I knew that our decadent government was crooked but for the love of God, this takes the cake. I will be touring more and more of your site as time allows but I feel horrified at the moment just thinking about these crooks stealing my hard earned money for no reason at all. That is inexcusable. Please keep up the good work and for heavens sake don’t get yourself locked up. Excellent blog post brother!

    John

    • Peter

Hello, John Thank you for your comments. One thing about cryptocurrencies thats makes them safer than Government money is a lot of computers that each confirm the transactions and they also reset every 10 which is called a “block.” Each proceeding ‘block’ is verified and then linked to the last block, creating a chain. Hence the term “Block Chain”

Ultimately, making this system, virtually impossible for hackers to breach without an enormous amount of computing power. Think of it as millions of locks that would need to be picked in a rapid amount of time rather than hacking into just one central place.

So, Cryptocurrencies could be a good way to protect yourself from the wealth-destroying policies of governments and central bankers. As digital currencies like, Bitcoin (for example), are not owned by any government or any bank and as they have a fixed supply. Politicians and bankers can’t inflate its value away.

You can see more about in my post here: What is a Cryptocurrency

Thanks again for your comments. 🙂

Isn’t China already a superpower in a way, they may not have the most powerful guns and such, but they do wield other items of power. They have a ton of marketing experience and sell a ton of goods to several different countries already. Why wouldn’t that make them a powerful country?

    • Peter

Hello, MJElliot.  To answer your question. It’s still a communist country and it wants to keep it people in the dark and under control so it limits them a lot by restricting access to the internet and travel. Yes, some travel and buy properties etc but those are only the well connected few. However if the Chinese people, in general awaken to the political one party con game, they may react swiftly in eliminating all vestiges of government intervention in their lives.

Should that happen, it will propel them into superpower status at such a speed that has never before been seen in the world. In which case America will be doomed to become a third rate power.

America was once great, an unprecedented economic powerhouse, the land of innovations and freedom. Before the government destroyed the entrepreneurial spirit with too much regulation and intervention into the economic affairs of its people. Instead America adds more rules and regulations to her businesses, impeding innovation, and entrepreneurship. Yet the American people don’t see it. They think a new President will save them.

      Thanks for your comments. 🙂

  • Dolor

    Hi Peter!

    I don’t accept bribes! ^_^
I think you are familiar with “God made the earth and the rest are made in China.” ^_^ As I have known, China is into quantity not quality. As you could notice when buying things most people are into quality and the first thing they would ask is the manufacturer and the country of origin.

    • Peter

Hello, Dolor. That’s ok, you don’t have to accept the free eBook offer, just don’t open the email when it comes to you.

Yes, many people are conscience of the course of manufactured goods these days but many are more concerned about the price of goods and that’s why many American manufacturers have set up factories in China. Years ago, products from Japan, where also cheap and of low quality but that has now changed and the Japanese products are now excellent.

China may well do the same thing. Fortunately we all have choices about what we can buy and we don’t have to accept free offers or buy Chinese made goods.

      Thanks for your comments. 🙂

Hi, my name is John. First of all I would like to say that your website is so amazing! I have to wonder how many years you have been doing this. It is just awesome, honestly it’s content overload. Totally beautiful. Let me stop doting, I do want to say that your ranking on page one article for google search really opened some doors for me. You have such a good handle on keyword development that I don’t think even an astrophysicist could achieve what you have. I like how much credit you give to WA along the way as well since that is the platform that I am using. You have breathed a fresh breath of hope into my soul and it is much appreciated. You are definitely a master of your craft. Well done sir.

Hello, John Thank you for your praise and yes WA is certainly an awesome platform to get the education you need to be a success online. Watch out for the eBook that is coming your way for leaving a comment. 🙂

  • Matt's Mom

I really didn’t know that China had so much wealth. Makes sense since a lot of companies have plants, etc in China. That must be why there average income is so low, because so many work in these factories for nothing? I just hope you are wrong and that China does not become the next superpower holding all the cards. Kind of scary to me, just like North Korea.

    • Peter

      Hello, Matt’s Mom.

The Chinese, have learned many lesson from the collapse of the Soviet Union and they now make many of products for the ‘west‘ they have learned how to generate a large surplus income from the rest of the world by selling low cost products. They have also grown their military faster than any other country.

America was once great, an unprecedented economic powerhouse, the land of innovations and freedom. Before the government destroyed the entrepreneurial spirit with too much regulation and intervention into the economic affairs of the people.

It’s indeed unfortunate that as China grows its economy, by reducing its red tape and regulation on businesses. America adds more rules and regulations to her businesses, impeding innovation, and entrepreneurship. Yet the American people don’t see it. They think a new President will save them.

Should the Chinese people ever become free from the control of their heavily information censoring Government. It would give them ‘real’ access to the internet and that will lead to an explosion of internet searches as they seek to explore a ‘new world‘ of knowledge.  Knowledge and information that will rocket them to superpower status (not as a country) but as a group of entrepreneurs.

Thank you again of your comments. 🙂

    Hi, Peter!
I am a Chinese, but I seldom read articles related to the future prospect of my motherland. Although the USA has the biggest economy in the world, there are lots of loopholes in the financial aspect. Now, Chinese official staff tries their best to boost the soft power. I believe that China will better than the USA one day.

    • Peter

      Hello, Chlo2.

I am just not picking on China here, rather using it as an example of what governments do. Most Governments are involved with interfering in their economies. However things are not much different in the U.S, here they also ‘monitor‘ the flow of information and misinform its citizens as to the true cause of the current economic mess.

Look at the problems with Greece defaulting on loans and the many other countries that are in financial trouble. These are not overnight problems but are a result of a systemic governmental heavy handiness in the affairs of it citizens.

Essentially, however, all governments behave in the same way, to varying degrees and that is not acting in the best interest of its citizens.

      Thanks for your comments. 🙂

  • James

A man on the scene in China. Thank you for your observations, as your perspective is appreciated.
For all the past saber rattling in the South China Sea over the artificial islands China is building in international waters, might China’s motive be merely for the natural gas deposits and the new technology enabling its extraction?
As far as China becoming the financial center of the world, would you say their long term plan for this eventuality may be the reason for their yearly accumulations of gold in the multiple-thousand tons?
    Thank you for the information.

    • Peter

Hello, James. Thanks for your comments.

Yes, you are right about the South China sea thy are very interested in the resources that are there as well as it being a major shipping route and its part of their ‘one belt one road’ (control Global trade ) longer term goal. There are five other nations with overlapping claims to certain parts of the south China Sea but China is still claiming dominance and is building up reefs to make artificial islands then claiming sovereignty over the 200 km economic zone surrounding them. So by stringing these together it can lay claim to a large are of that part of the world. It’s also militarising those locations with airbases, landing strips, and navy bases. Claiming them to be navigation and weather monitoring stations for peaceful purposes.

Unfortunately, any significant decline in the Chinese economy, will also impact the rest of us in some way because China does business with most western countries now and whatever happens to China is also going to have a negiative impact on the rest of us.

So interesting times.  Thanks again for your comments 🙂

    Hi Peter,

This is fascinating, I would have never have thought China was so powerful. I was quite amazed by all the facts and I was interested to see that they have a higher IQ. Its interesting to read about the GDP. This has really opened up my eyes to things I was completely unaware of. I just thought China had a billion people, certainly educated me. Thank you for such an informative read.
    Freddy

    • Peter

Hello, Freddy. Thanks for your comments. I am pleased you found it informative. I always try to write engaging and informative articles for my readers. 🙂

  • Monica Bouteiller

What an interesting article to read! I like what you said ‘ all Governments lie’ so true. China’s population is huge and those that are able to work must work very hard with low pay. I would definitely say the average American with an income of 54, 629 is living comfortably compared to that of the average Chinese. I see many have come to Vancouver, British Columbia to purchase real estate.

Yes, and their language involves a lot of different characters to write and read. I don’t know what the average school time is but they spend a lot of time studying.

When you mentioned ‘nothing is free’ … this is good to always keep in mind because it does get me to become independent and work harder. This is why having an online business is best. Sure it’s hard work like you say, there are billions of people who surf the internet.

I always enjoy reading your posts Peter because I get a lot of motivation and this article has certainly given me the incentive to work harder in my online business. Thanks Peter!

    • Peter

Hello, Monica. I am pleased you enjoy reading my posts and happy that you find them motivating. Yes, you are right about the Chinese buying property around the world.

The country’s more affluent and ‘connected’ have been moving ‘temporarily’ to major English-speaking cities, in part to get their kids a better education and partly to get their money out of the country. They are buying the expensive real estate and as a result, have become the leading buyers in cities like Sydney, Singapore, Los Angles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Auckland and London.

In 2014, they accounted for  24% of the total real estate purchases in the U.S alone, or around  $22 billion or so which is significant. You don’t have to be Einstein to understand what will happen when these ‘foreign buyers‘ with that kind of buying power, comes to a halt. It will cause a global real estate meltdown that will impact the global economy even further.

So interesting times… Thank you for your comments 🙂

  • GBIG

Is China The Next Superpower? I don’t understand the question….. I mean haven’t they already proven they have ARRIVED!
Between all the positive points that you have so wonderfully articulated in your article and the last world leaders summit where President Donald Trump didn’t seem to want to talk with any world leaders or engage in any meaningful leadership discussions….. well I mean, we are witnessing the birth of a new Global World Order and China will be featuring more and more as we move through.
Thank you for focussing your well researched article on a variety of different angles including historic, government and work ethics issues. I thought you covered a lot of topics here.
Also thank you for the two online affiliate reviews. I had heard of one of them, but not the second one. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. All the best.

    • Peter

Hello, GBIG. Thank you for your comments and I am pleased you have found the post informative. I hope you will also like the eBook that is coming your way as a personal thank you for leaving a comment. 🙂

  • Megan

    Hi Peter
You really know your stuff on China! I would also like to say that its the globalized world, that includes new major powers like China, that allows people like us to benefit from platforms like Wealthy affiliate. As the Chinese (and Indians) move to the cities and get smart phones and access to the internet, there is a growing possibility for prosperity for many. Thanks for the interesting article.

    • Peter

Hello, Megan. Yes, that’s true and one day the Chinese people may have access to the internet (which they don’t have currently – its blocked) Instead they have ‘intranet’ which is a closed system within China. And access to the outside world is only via government approved sites. Hence no Google, Facebook, youtube and  twitter etc. Although some VPNs are working they are slowly being shut down and it’s expected to be totally shut down by 2018.

As I say in the post ” Should the Chinese people ever become free from the control of their heavily information censoring Government. It would lead to an explosion of internet searches as they seek to explore a ‘new world‘ of knowledge and information that is currently denied to them“.

So yes, if 1 Billion people suddenly come online then wow! then internet searches would explode and business would increase accordingly.

      Thanks for your comments. 🙂

    Hi Peter,

I started this comment thinking and wondering what am I going to say? Because, you have put together information that is well thought out and can be taken to the bank! After all I think most of us are interested in making money online and you gave us a way to do that too and in an easy to read manner – thanks

I look forward to more discussion (maybe with even more content) .

    • Peter

Hello, bparfitt. Thank you for your comments and with regard to ‘even more content’ some have said there is too much content. So its always hard to know what is too much or too little… ha ha.  I am pleased you enjoyed and have left a comment, so thank you 🙂

  • Andy

Hello, Peter, I love your article, though you did get some things wrong. America didn’t overthrow Britain as a world economic power until 1920, just two years after the war. The reason being is that America didn’t have any means to become a global economic power until 1917 when they betrayed Germany and joined the war and even earlier than that when they sold weapons to both sides.

China might be resentful to America for trying to impose themselves on China. However, China isn’t going to do anything about it simply because they don’t want a war with a superpower like America. We are not living in the cold war anymore. Even if America is in debt with trillions, they won’t care, and it won’t stop a war, all out wars are won when the other side is all out. All out of resources, not little pieces of paper.

You said your self that the government is nothing more than a mafia. This is incorrect, because that the mafia’s main recourse is money, the government’s primary resource is what ever they can get their hands on, drafts are an essential part of a lot of militaries world wide. Human life is a mere supply in demand. Don’t kid your self when you think humans stop at when the money dries up, many people in the past fight until the bitter end when their empires are nothing more than a pile of ruin. Look at world war one for example. They didn’t stop even though no one thought they could continue longer than a year because of financial means.

A war between China and America won’t be a war a war of finances and bills; it’s a war of people, resources and politicians. Once the **** hits the fan, you might as well through your money through that fan next because no one cares about money when you have billions of Chinese all wanting you dead.

    • Peter

Hello, Andy You are right about “America didn’t overthrow Britain as a world economic power until 1920’s”. So I have made that correction. Thank you!

Also war between China and the USA would be a disaster for the world and your are right the politicians won’t care, how many lives get lost and cities get destoryed, as what happened during the first and second world wars.

Thank you for your feed back it is wonderful to se you write so much thank you.  I am sending you an eBook to say thank you so watch out for it in your inbox.  🙂

  • Shawn F.

    Hello,

This is an awesome article on China and how they plan to be the next superpower.

Many people tend to overlook China but they are creeping up on us.

I definitely believe that they have the ability to be the next superpower if we aren’t careful. I have bookmarked your site and I will be a continuing reader.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

    • Peter

Hello, Shawn Pleased you have enjoyed the article and thank you for leaving a comment.

As I said in the article, the country has remained steadfastly a one party communistic state they have whole heartily embraced capitalism (at least economically) since the Nixon era of the 1970s’ when they opened the door to doing business with the ‘west’. There has been, and continues to be reforms to its economic model and unlike America they are quietly unapologetic about making money and so they are quickly becoming very good at it.

So there has never been a more important time to take control of your own financial future and to fully embrace today’s latest technology revolution (the Internet) and seriously consider building an online business to take advantage the income potential that technology offers.

Thanks again for your feedback. 🙂

  • Doug

    Peter,
Love your take on China and have always felt that someday it would be a stronger country than the u.s.
I recently read a book by James Dale Davidson called “the age of deception” and found it eye opening about all the lie’s we have been told by our government.
I was once told by someone ( I can’t disclose their name) but an important figure, “the bigger the lie, the easier it is to convince the American people that its the truth”. I don’t think the majority American people have any comprehension of what is really going on in the world.
Really enjoyed your take on things and will have to take some time in the near future to read more.
Thanks for telling it like it is,
    Doug

    • Peter

Hello, Doug. Yes, James Dale Davidson writes some good stuff!

It was Adolf Hitler who said,
Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually, they will believe it.”

And it’s no accident, rather it’s the result of a conscious effort by the Government (in fact all governments) to diminish the average person’s ability to think. Because independent thought and knowledge is the enemy of those who seek to dominate others.

I agree with you that the majority American people have any comprehension of what is really going on in the world for the reason mentioned above.

      Thanks for your comments 🙂
